The 23rd edition of Primavera Sound took place from 5 to 7 June 2025 at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, and welcomed around 293000 attendees setting a new record for a single week event.
About 65 percent of the audience came from abroad, representing 136 different countries making the festival more global than ever.
The average age of festival goers was 29 and there was a balanced mix of genders and nationalities across the lineup.
Headliners included Charli XCX with Troye Sivan in their only European date of the year, Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan who each took one of the main evenings and delivered high energy performances.
The festival featured a total of 311 performances across the main site and the city wide Primavera a la Ciutat program filling venues around Barcelona and offering more than just the main stage experience.
Beyond the music the economic impact was significant generating over 300 million euros for the city, thanks to accommodation transport and local spending by festival goers.
Every day during the core three day period saw roughly 71000 people on site, which created a vibrant atmosphere and long queues, but also showed strong organization and crowd management.
In terms of atmosphere and production the festival continues to grow Under the shadow of Europes largest solar power panel, the main stages offered immersive visuals and expansive sound across genres from indie hip hop and electronic to pop and beyond.
The opening free day welcomed around 30000 people, setting the tone for the rest of the event while still staying connected to the local community.
Long time fans said that despite the scale the festival kept its spirit of discovery and diversity ,Many rising acts shared stages with big names, and the city venues allowed deeper engagement with new sounds and local talent.
For anyone thinking about next year it is worth noting that tickets sold out quickly back in January making it one of the fastest sellouts in Primavera history.
In many ways Primavera Sound 2025 did more than host big names and huge crowds, It proved again that it is one of Europes most influential festivals by blending international reach, with local culture and a real sense of place.
